3 Reasons a Comedy Club is a Great Place for a First Date

So You’re Going On A Date!

They said yes! How exciting for you! You are going on a date with someone you kinda really like. This could finally be the one you’ve been waiting for… your life partner… your soul mate… that someone to anchor you down like a giant rock in the free and open seas of the single life. Let’s face facts: none of us is getting any younger. Don’t blow this last chance to keep from dying alone! Make the greatest impression possible by being on your best behavior, wearing your most flattering ensemble, and thoroughly showering within 2 or 3 days BEFORE the date. Most importantly, think long and hard about where you’ll go on that first date. Do you really want to tell your grand kids you met the love of your life at a DEA surveilled gin mill called the Bucket of Blood or over Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunches? Make the night magical and memorable by going out to a comedy club!

The Three Top Reason to Have a First Date at Comedy Club

Comedy can break the ice on a date.
Comedy can break the ice on a date.

Reason 1. It’s Fun!

Who doesn’t like to have a good laugh? Places like the Gateway Comedy Club provide a solid hour and a half of professional comedy that is chock full of hysterical laughs. Going to a live stand-up comedy show is a lot of fun! It’s also a very clever way to find out a lot about your date without having to give them a direct third degree. You can tell quite a bit about a person by observing what they laugh at. Things like: Are they a smart egg or dull pill, a prude or wild-sided, a libtard or a tea-bagger? And even if your date turns out to be a dud, you’ll still be able to have the happy memories granted to you through laughter provided by the stand up comedians you got to see.

Reason 2. It’s Dark.

Who doesn’t want to look their best when they are on a first date? Once again, let’s face facts here: Not all of us are 10s on the outside – especially in moderate to bright lighting. Most comedy club shows take place at night and for most of the show the audience sits in the dark or, at the very least, is dimly lit. What better way for your potential betrothed to get to know your inner beauty than by limiting their focus to who you are on the inside, not on what you look like on the outside. For goodness sake, you are not an object! Just remember to be careful not to bump into anything during the course of the evening. No one likes a klutz.
